Selling photos to magazines for complete idiots

Recently, when a Nashville politician went down in flames after admitting that he’d shop-lifted football trading cards, his mea culpa included the comment, “What can I say, I was an idiot.” Yesterday, the photographer who convinced Penthouse Magazine to run his pictures of who he thought was Anna Kournikova (but not), threw himself on the mercy of the court, saying that when he realized his mistake:

“I thought to myself, ‘I’m an idiot,’ ” Mr. Ramaesiri said. “I apologize to Anna Kournikova, to Ms. Benetton and to Mr. Guccione.” (NY Times)

(Sorry, I’ve decided to invoke my “no links to faux-Anna Kornikovia photos policy.”)
