I don’t like blogging magazine closures, but in the case of the perpetually troubled Upside Magazine, I wanted to at least note it.

One of the magazine’s founders, David Bunnell, departed a while back (something about not being able to pay their bills) but is promoting a new magazine, Dig-It, that “some observers” say will remain perpetually in pre-launch mode.

Later: Since I first linked to this item, it has been updated with news about Red Herring being sold. Upside and Red Herring share some history (Tony Perkins). For that matter, they have the one-degree of separation from Forbes ASAP, as well (Richard Karlgaard). Ironic that all three publications are in the news at the same time with “the end” (or close to it) stories.
