On the road, but: I’m traveling today but had to find a computer to blog this link to the WSJ’s report that the FTC chairman is making “veiled threats” to take legal action against media, including magazines, who run “deceptive diet advertisements.” I will rant on this later, but as a preview, I’d like to ask if he also would like to turn the first amendment over to the nation’s trial lawyers while he’s at it. Can you imagine the result of holding media liable for the use (and misuse) of every product advertised in their pages or on air? Let’s just do away with advertising-supported media while we’re at it. More later on this moronic move.
