Irony: A nice respite from the hubris displayed by the magazine people described in the previous post is this article about a small magazine in LA called “Home” that is being published by homeless women. With a unique custom-publishing twist, it is funded by a grant from Williams-Sonoma. No telling what these women could do with the $13,000 a week Time Inc. spends on John Huey’s commute from South Carolina to New York. (By the way, it costs me only $200 to commute from Nashville to Islip Long Island via Southwest, then $6 for the Long Island Railroad into Penn Station. Maybe Huey should look into this.)
