The entire thing

The entire thing: The American Journalism Review has a good article on an effective use of the limitless space on a print publication’s website: the posting of transcripts of entire interviews that are conducted by a reporter doing a story. I wonder who would hate it most: the reporter or the interviewee. In Congress, whenever a lawmaker delivers a floor statement or other type of speech that can appear in the Congressional Record, they routinely ask for permission to “revise and extend” their remarks, thus “rewriting” what they say in real time. I suspect that if the posting of transcripts become widely adopted, interview candidates will ask for the chance to “revise and extend” the interview for “clarification and grammar,” or whatever.
