Catching up

Catching up: Back from quick travels…finally. Didn’t get to post some fine magazine news like this one about some magazine tests taking place at Time, Inc. New titles called Snap, Crackle and Pop – or something like that. And then, there was this one about how the editor of the NY Times Magazine thinks it’s great he doesn’t have to put the kind of covers on the magazine that he’d have to if it were a newsstand magazine. And, yes, there was this one about a feud going on between two hip-hop magazines. And just think, all some blogs get to point to are articles about war.

Hmmm that is interesting on the NYT mag. I was actually just thinking about their cover on Sunday. They had that article on Bush and I couldn’t figure out what they were trying to do w/ the cover. It wasn’t a good picture. It was just a little out of focus. I couldn’t decide if that was the best picture they could get their hands on [surely not] or if they meant it to be fuzzy. But it wasn’t THAT fuzzy. To look fuzzy on purpose. It just looked like a shot they’d blown up too big without achieving any real affect by doing so. I think they need to pay a tad more attention to the cover myself.

I think they need to do like Mad Magazine and put Alfred E. Neuman on each issue’s cover.
