Custom revenues

Custom revenues: Following up on the non-news that Slate has recorded a quarter of positive cash flow (I’m having flashbacks) when you don’t consider such items as interest on the $20 million invested in it and the probability that its $7 million in annual revenues is less than what MS pays for landscaping its Redmond campus. However, I find interesting this buried tidbit of a statistic found in an article in today’s Guardian regarding where the Slate revenues come from. According to the article, 80% comes from advertising and 20% from, “Book deals on items generated by Slate and “custom publishing” for corporations…”
