How you look at it: Depending on where you see stories covering the June PIB numbers, it’s either good or bad and advertising is either up or down. As the AP story makes most sense, here’s a link to it. Translation: Consumer magazine advertising revenue is up 8.5% from a year ago, but is down in pages. As revenue can pay salaries, I tend to prefer it over number of pages. It also means that last year, publishers were giving away pages and throwing away rate cards.

Congratulations: Excuse me for a moment of apparent self-congratulations, but rather it is not for me, but is a well-deserved recognition for the dedicated and talented folks at Hammock Publishing and our clients. They are the recipients of these 13 Apex Awards. I am especially proud of how our clients and my colleagues continue to raise the bar on what is good and what is important; both in our work and in our relationships. (Also, excuse me for forgetting to blog this since Monday.)
