Question: When is a magazine more than a magazine? When it’s the New Yorker. At least, that’s my opinion.

Quote (from Jon Friedman piece in CBS Marketwatch):

The New Yorker is the only magazine that has had 25 books written about it because of its writing,” said John Motavalli, a journalist and media-industry consultant.

Okay. Can anyone provide me with a list of those 25 books? Here’s a start. (For the record, my favorite is Brendan Gill’s classic, Here at the New Yorker.)
