Eating crow: Okay. I’ll admit it. Those people in D.C. who shut everything down and who I implied were wimps we’re correct to cautious in shutting everything down in the face of Isabel.
Hurricane Isabel was described today as the most damaging storm to strike the Washington region in decades, as more than a million Northern Virginia residents were urged to boil and conserve their water, and utility officials warned that it may be a week before power is fully restored in the area.
My apologies to the fine officials who made the call to be safe rather than sorry. If I were in charge, I’m sure that little pre-schoolers would have had to swim home.
