Masterminding a vaporzine

Masterminding a vaporzine: William Gibson’s current novel Pattern Recognition revolves around an online group passionate about the clip-by-clip release of a film via the Internet: Who’s behind it? What does it mean? Can this passion be bottled for commercial marketing purposes? Perhaps the folks behind the vaporzine Mastermind Magazine desire that an online group spring-up to actually speculate about what they are doing.

I just received an e-mail from someone asking if I knew anything about it. I don’t but told her I’d be glad to ask if any of the 3 or 4 people who visit the rexblog might.

The Mastermind Magazine website describes it as a new magazine “which deals with the convergence of Gaming, Architecture, Film and Music.” (I’m fascinated to learn they are converging.) Also, if you surf around the site (definitely put together by the “gaming” staff rather than the “architecuture” staff), you’ll finds lots of Matrix-Reloaded gibberish (from the “film” staff, no doubt).

Anyway, if you know anything about Mastermind Magazine (or would like to speculate), please e-mail me and I’ll share it with the rest of the rexblog universe and we can all waste our times becoming a part of a giant viral marketing conspiracy.
