Keeping medium: One of the “go-to” experts on issues like this, Rafat Ali of PaidContent.org, reports that KeepMedia is making a “subtle turn” in its market positioning. (Rafat links to a story that I can’t access on Outsell Inc’s weekly e-mail newsletter.) I have been “pitched” by KeepMedia and have blogged it here and here. KeepMedia is focusing its message to publishers on how the KeepMedia channel can be a source for incremental revenue. He mentions “iTunes” as a possible benchmark for Keep Media’s possible future. I’m not sure if the market is yet ready for the long-anticipated vending machine model for purchasing content. However, if the price is low enough and transactional (vs. subscription) based, perhaps we are. Developing.
