Kurdish music city, usa: According to AP, “Nashville is one of five American cities where Iraqi expatriates can vote, and nearly 4,000 of them are registered here more than Los Angeles and Washington. Detroit and Chicago have more. There are an estimated 8,000 Kurds living in Nashville, which they call ”Little Kurdistan.” It is the largest community in the United States of Kurds.”

Funny that AP has to write this story. It [historically] gets little mention in our own local press, except for the hysterical notes on other Nashville residents who are nervous about Iraqis voting here, convinced it will make all of us victims of some kind of terrorist attack.

Nashville has for years been a growing hub for many immigrants, and they are a blessing to our community, IMHO. And not just b/c there are so many cool places to eat around here.
