And the winner is… Rogers Cadenhead who registered the URL of the pope’s name last week.
Rogers, you should at least redirect BENEDICTXVI.COM to your blog.
By the way, I just learned that all Ben & Jerry’s everywhere will
start serving free ice cream for the rest of the day in celebration of
Rogers’ amazing accomplishment.
Update: So, the obvious question for Rogers is, “What are you going to do with the domain?”
His answer (in comments on this post):
domain registration, so I suspect my spiritual well-being will hinge on
what I do with the domain name.
As a lapsed Catholic who lives in the oldest diocese in the
U.S., I can only conclude that my registration of this domain name was
a sign from God.
Though it may dismay some people to see it fall into the hands
of a blogger, it could have been worse: The world could have pulled up
benedictxvi.com today to find an ecommerce site selling Catholic
schoolgirl outfits for consenting adults.
(In other words, I have no idea what to do with the domain name. I didn’t think that far ahead.)”
