Pope URL update

Pope .com domain update: Here are some things Rogers Cadenhead would like (don’t call them demands) from the Vatican in exchange for the domain name, benedictxvi.com:

      • Three days, two nights at the Vatican hotel they built for the conclave.
      • One of those hats.
      • Complete absolution, no questions asked, for the third week of March 1987.
      • A back-cover blurb from the Pope for the next edition of Movable Type 3 Bible Desktop Edition. But only if he uses the book to create his own weblog.
      • World peace

(Someone asked
who to credit for the lame “photo illustration”: Isn’t it obvious that
someone with no photoshop skills (me) did it?)

    I wish Rogers luck with his requests, but having seen the Cardinal ‘hotel,’ I recommend that Rogers think ‘glorified seminary.’ It’s used by Vatican employees for housing when the Cardinals aren’t electing a Pope. Luxurious it’s not, but I guess it’s better then living out of a tent in the Sistine Chapel, as Cardinals used to do.

    So I’d recommend Rogers think about asking for a night or two in the equivalent of the Pope’s Lincoln bedroom, if such a thing exists. The Papal apartments have got to be better than the Casa Santa Maria!
