My recommendation for a Tennessee license plate

My recommendation for a Tennessee license plate: I was traveling last week and missed the announcement of a new Tennessee license plate. I suggest the state bring back this plate, one of the very few, true classics in license plate design.

Whatever. I’m keeping my Titans tag.

During a trip to the Left Coast last month, my wife went into a chic shop in Carmel (actually, there are no non-chic shops in Carmel, something to do with zoning) where they sold purses and wallets made from license plates. I didn’t see this particular one there, but there were TN purses (something like $250 a pop; again, something to do with the zoning), and the plates looked authentic.

I like the accurate representation of haze on the plate. Is that supposed to represent an air quality alert day like today? (http://cfpub.epa.gov/airnow/index.cfm?action=airnow.showlocal&cityid=158)
