The e-commerce giants respond (finally)

The e-commerce giants respond (finally): It took them a few days too long to repeat what they did after the tsunami, but there are now ways to use your accounts at Amazon.com or the Apple iTunes Store to make contributions to the American Red Cross (or go straight to the Red Cross donation page by clicking here). Since yesterday, Amazon.com customers have contributed $2.2 million.

Paypal is enabling contributions to United Way’s Katrina Response Fund while eBay is offering (via MissionFish.org) a means to “Buy an Item for Relief” or to “Sell and Item for Relief”. I think I’ll be looking around for some things to sell that way and will be posting them this week end.
