Coolest Google map mashup yet

NYC Transit system Google map mashup: Haven’t seen this before: A New York City “Interactive Transit Map.” When you click on a point, you set the starting point of your route. When you click on another point, the program will display the shortest subway route between those two points, including walking time.

  1. Yeah, this is a cool mash up. I thought it was hilarious when I picked two random spots and was told the quickest way there was to walk….just a quick 2 hour walk, no big deal.

  2. Very cool idea, but I wouldn’t rely on it. It told me it’d be best to walk 50 blocks south from my old apt to my old job. Even in the worst of rush hours and crammed up against the stinkiest of subway riders, I wouldn’t consider hoofing it.
