Om Malik on Google’s acqhire strategy: What Om said:

“By encouraging entrepreneurs to pitch Google first, the company can shell out a nominal amount of cash for cutting-edge technologies and top-notch people. “These acquisitions are about talent,” says Christopher Sacca, a principal for new business development at Google. Some call this trend, “Acq-hire.”

Could it be? Could acqhire be getting a nibble on buzzword status? Now, if I could just get others to starting using the tag.

What Jeff Jarvis says: (Speculating how VCs who blog with a “top ten list” formula, must talk at home):

“As part of my continuing series about how to present better dinnertime conversation, let me list the top 10 cliched lies Dads tell their startups, er, I mean, kids.”

I guess one could pick up Jeff’s humor and speculate what the dinner conversation around the Jarvis table is like. Where I stand: The blogosphere is big enough to handle any style one wants to use. My first rule of blogging is there are no rules.
