Memeorandum is what Google news should’ve been

Susan Mernit: I’ll add my ‘what-Doc-said’ to Susan Mernit’s quote of the day:

(Doc Searls on the gillmor gang podcast featuring Memeorandum’s Gabe Rivera, quoted by Richard MacManus.)

Hm. The comparison strikes me as odd, in that memeorandum appears to be only technology-related news?

It seems it not, in fact, what google news is at all ..(yet?)

Chris, there’s a politics.memeorandum.com, as well. And, I’m sure there are plans to do sports, entertainment, etc. He was referring to the aggregation of blogging surrounding the stories, I think. Where Google news is mysterious about what sources of news they index and there is no sense of the “conversation” taking place about the stories. Memeorandum reveals not only the most “blogged about” stories, but also highlights the conversations taking place on blogs. A “trackback” system on steroids.
