Scot blogging

Scottish blogging: It’s Tartan Week (April 6 is Tartan Day in North America) and if you’re in New York or one of these cities around the U.S., there are plenty of activities. Tartan Day celebrates the existing and historical links between Scotland and Scottish descendants overseas and has only been around a few years — give it time and it will get as rowdy as St. Patricks Day. Online, the TartanBlogs are gathering. Are you Scottish? Here’s a link to ScotlandsPeople, the official UK government source of genealogical data for Scotland.  (Trivia:  Eating at a McDonald’s is NOT considered “celebrating Tartan Day” unless you’re wearing a kilt and drinking Glenfiddich — then it’s considered a happy meal.)
