NBA fines Mark Cuban $100k — for blogging

NBA fines Mark Cuban $100k — for blogging: (From ESPN.com): “Cuban was fined $100,000 for going onto the court and another $100,000 for being critical of the league regarding the selection of playoff officials, and how to improve playoff officiating on blogmaverick.com.”

That does it: Despite my total lack of interest in the NBA, I’ve just become a Dallas Mavericks fan — and, heck, I’ll even go see Akeelah and the Bee.

Steve Rubel: “It’s not the first time.” Steve is referring to a 2004 “incident” that inspired me to name Cuban the rexblog 2004 “blogger of the year.”

The NBA proves once again that it’s completely unAmerican. Opposed to free speech etc. etc. I know all this about it’s their business and they can run it the way they want. But we all know — you don’t get anywhere by shutting down the discussion. You just look guilty. Go Mark!

The Mavs are OK, but y’all should really be rooting for the Spurs! ;-)
