Coaches now have new duty – monitoring blogs and MySpace accounts

Coaches now have new duty – monitoring blogs and MySpace accounts: (From the Tennessean) It’s not enough to keep students in class and on the field and out of trouble…or jail, now coaching staffs are having to keep up with what their ‘student-athletes’ are doing online.

Quote (Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks):

“What we’ve told them, and it’s basically filtered down from the athletic director to every sport, is that you have to be responsible for what’s on your personal space. If it doesn’t reflect kindly on our university, there will be consequences because of that.”
