I guess I would think the Vanderbilt chancellor’s salary of $905,000 per year plus benefits and expenses is pretty robust if I hadn’t read just a few days ago that the average — let me repeat that, average, salary of a Division I-A college football coach is $950,00 plus benefits and expenses.

I feel compelled to say the same thing every time this or any other salary study comes out:
A. The man earns his money. Check out the $$ raised in the past five years or so.
B. I’m a lot more concerned about the public universities [read: taxpayer dollars] right up at the top of the list.
C. And as you so rightly point out, their football coaches. Sheesh.
