Hey, I know those guys

I guess my theme today is Nashville technology companies. The Nashville Business journal has a love-letter to my close friends and former fox-hole mates, Clint Smith and Will Weaver, who created and have grown the email-management software and service, emma. By the end of the year, the company expects to have 35 employees and $5 million in revenues — with clients around the world using their web-based product. (I’m a client.)

I can’t stress enough how proud I am of Clint and Will. We go way back.

  • How did you get to that story? I searched the site looking for it when I saw the print version but never could find it. NBJ needs to work on their site!

In any case, yes, congrats all around to the folks at emma.

Lewis, I just typed in a random URL and that’s what came up. By the way, that reminds me of a long, long ago post on the rexblog about Clint Smith, unfortunately, most of the links no longer work. That’s the problem with five-year old jokes that depend on hyperlinks.

  • Cool stuff. I interviewed over there for their sysadmin position like a year ago…. too bad I didnt get it πŸ™ they look like they are doing well.

  • I guess I need to start an RSS feed of “The Internet” and start sifting through it daily or else who knows what gems I might miss.

Geez, Lewis. I have that RSS feed of everything on the Internet on my newsreader. I’ll be happy to share it with you. Also, Kevin, you should feel lucky you didn’t get that job: Lewis and I used to work with those guys and they’re actually jerks. Don’t believe all that positive press or anything I may say nice about them on this blog. : ) By the way, how does one get those emoticons to show up in comments. This is my blog and I don’t even know how to do that. Heck, you should have been hired as a sysadmin just for that hack alone.

  • I dont know… I just did πŸ™‚ and it showed up… Oh well I was just looking for a real job back then and I eventually found one. Doing SysAdmin here at McGraw-Hill Digital Learning. Little did I know a branch of one of the largest publishers is here in Belle Meade. But I love it. Doing Linux admin stuff for about 180 servers across the US.

  • and just so you know…. dont put a space in between the colon and the paren. not looking closer to what software you are using, but I know wordpress auto does that, atleast on my blog it does πŸ˜‰
