Growing up in Alabama, my attitude towards “ties” was influenced by Bear Bryant’s famous quote, “A tie is like kissing your sister.” However, after reading Carl Bialik’s Numbers Guy column today I’ve discovered that a three-way tie on Jeopardy is like kissing twin sisters from Sweden who are math majors at MIT.
