My long, but uneventful travel is complete: I’ve checked into the hotel where Rafat & Co.’s EconSM: Economics of Social Media conference takes place tomorrow. The hotel lobby was jammed with media so I assumed they were here for something more than my checking-in. Apparently, “3,000 of the world’s leading decision-makers” are at this hotel wrapping up the 10th Anniversary Milken Institute Global Conference. Curious about who is speaking, I went to their website and discovered they have a Trilateral-commission-esque group of 470 speakers and panelists. 470! I’m glad they’ve finished up today. Those global leader types probably throw loud hotel-room parties.

I’ll be offline most of today as I travel to LA (the California one*) for the EconSM conference on Thursday. I’ll be at the opening evening reception tonight.

*Inside joke for readers from Alabama.
