Microhoo?

What a difference a half-decade makes. Thinking back on anti-trust lawsuits and the juggernaut of Microsoft, it’s hard to imagine that we’re now at a place where the idea of Microsoft acquiring Yahoo is not considered a threat — but, rather, a response to the threat of a greater juggernaut.

    If the MSN-Yahoo merger fails to stop Google, the combined companies have a resource at hand to stop Google: the U.S. Justice Department. This particular arm of the federal government broke up AT&T in the 1980s; maybe Google is next.

    Interesting, too, that AT&T is being reassembled and with the Justice Department’s blessing.
