NPR.org/music launches with on-demand stream of Nickel Creek Farewell concert

I was about to blog about the launch of NPR.org/music when I clicked over and discovered they have a streaming version of Nickel Creek’s current Farewell (for now) Concert tour. (And yes, I have tickets to the tour’s final, final stop (for now) on November 29 in Nashville.) Rather than blog, I decided to listen to some music. So read about NPR.org/music here.

Later: Okay, after checking out NPR.org/music, I’m about to declare that it’s the coolest web service since Google Maps. And here’s a gem from Yo Yo Ma’s “top five favorites” list: “My friend Edgar Meyer said I absolutely had to hear the mandolinist Chris Thile. What an amazing musician.”

Thanks, Rex, for turning me on to this site. I’m listening to Band of Horses from CMJ. They opened for Modest Mouse at the Ryman recently. Check ‘em out.
