NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell suspended Adam Jones, the “trouble-prone Dallas Cowboys cornerback” for violating the league’s “personal conduct policy” by getting into a hotel fight with one of the four bodyguards the Cowboys hired to keep him out of trouble. The suspension could be for as few as four games but the reality appears, it’s forever. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones used the past tense in his references to Adam Jones when talking with the media earlier today.
The suspension means the Titans (who traded Jones to the Cowboys) must give up a 5th round draft choice to the Cowboys next year. That’s unfortunate. But not as unfortunate as watching a talented — but psychologically disturbed — person self-destruct.
