Sometime in about five gigayears (roughly, about five billion years from now), our sun will nova and swallow the earth. We can all just stand around whining about it, or get off our butts and do something. For instance, we could figure out how to shift Earth into the Kuiper Belt by means of a swing-by dance with other Solar System bodies. Go ahead. Laugh and scoff if you like. But let’s see you come up with something better.
