Just moved here (NY) from LA about a four months ago and have found the prices to be still kinda inflated as far as purchasing goes. However, we moved here at the top of the rental market I think and now a larger apartment in the same building/neighborhood as us is renting for significantly less than we paid.
I think for some reason, NY is just delayed on all economic fronts - maybe because the people who can afford to live here have more money in reserve?
