		<description>I&#039;ll agree with the premise that fear-mongering &#039;journalism&#039; is bad with a system as complex as the economy (or any system). However, the statement quoted seems to call into question  &#039;cause and effect&#039; itself. If events in the economy occur with no cause and attempting to determine possible effects is futile, how can businesses or policy makers develop strategies, ensure growth, or even operate?</description>
