		<description>I heard yesterday that the Marine Corps was created before the nation itself - 1775 vs 1776 for the country. The Continental Congress thought it necessary to authorize fighting men before arguing over the contents of the constitution and establishing a country. But thinking about it, I guess that makes sense, you have to fight to become a country before you are one.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Aside: this is a big comment box (in IE7) with a scroll area about 1/3 of the height of the comment box area. Unusual.</description>
