Despite what Dave says (and he's blocking comments on that post so what does that say?) and with all due respect to you for your many astute commentaries, I think this should be the last post on this subject for a long, long time. Or at least the next 5 minutes. We now have a bunch of people who have posited or at least implied that antennagate has been some kind of tipping point or watershed event for Apple. The problems and Apple's responses have been hashed, rehashed, re-rehashed and so on ad nauseam. I think everyone should take a breath, shut up and then in a few weeks or months, we can have one side writing its “I told you so's” and the other writing its mea culpas. Until then, I'm happy to stop reading about this…

While I often agree with Scott Adams, on this one I don't. And even if Jobs were brilliant on Friday, the response came 22 days from the beginning of the controversy. There was nothing he said on Friday that could not have been done said weeks earlier. Better yet, read Jean-Louise Gassee's post on "what Jobs should have done." (Now, that would have been brilliant.

I'm thinking the geek press and PR pros (and you Rex) may have missed the boat on this – Scott Adams (Dilbert) hits it on the head in my opinion — Jobs news conference was brilliant – http://bit.ly/ba5XtQ – Killed cartoon possibilities, changed the conversation. — Especially that last part, haven't seen much on iPhone4 antenna issues since Friday but the net is being swamped with videos, posts, etc. showing it's a somewhat universal problem. For Jobs, mission accomplished and today reporting great financials – End of AntennaGate.
