US News is carrying a story on a display format from Zinio that allows publishers to offer digital versions of their publications in an on-screen manner that mimicks the print product. It’s like Acrobat, but with a user experience that allows you to “flip” pages and see full-page ads.
As I said (pre-blog) last year about this time upon seeing the product demoed, As a publisher, I can understand why I would like people to get my magazine in such a format, but as a consumer, well, I predict this will be the next Cue Cat.
Anyway, they don’t support the platform preferred these days by Alpha Geeks.
