Huey & Brewy: After reading Peter Carlson’s column, I took home both magazines (GQ & Vanity Fair) to read the stories about Rosie (and Dan Brewster) and John Huey. Outside of Peter, me and a few hundred people in the magazine industry, I can’t imagine anyone who could possibly have the warped curiousity necessary to read these two articles back-to-back. Doing so is like watching a season of TV dramas produced by the same company in which characters wander in and out of episodes of each show. Susan Toepfer, who gets passed over for the editorial top-slot at People and then becomes editor of Rosie, is a guest star in each story, for example. Interesting reads for hard-core magazineers.
