Sounds like an Onion story: Here’s some magazine launch news about what the publisher is calling, no kidding, a “fresh twist on the traditional men’s magazine genre.” The magazine is going to be called MXB for MaxBikini.


CEO and Publisher Scott Moore, who’s been inspired by the proven mass-appeal model of such magazine staples as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, aims to create a magazine where “every issue will be a special swimsuit issue.” He notes how the success of the other Swimsuit Editions (sic) proves that major advertising categories know how to get the coveted 18-49 male demographic in order to build brand equity.
