Tunnel lights: Mediaweek’s Jeff Bercovici reports business magazines are “trying to control their optimism” about the “evidence of a genuine rebound.” Oh, what the heck. As the publisher of one of those business magazines, I’ll say it, “We’re off to the races. I’m completely unguarded in my optimism. Nothing can stop this recovery now. Advertisers are tripping over themselves to place orders. Excuse me, I have to wake up and get back to work.” (If this sounds familiar, it’s because in July, Jeff wrote an earlier outlook piece with the same theme, proving, I hope, that if you say something enough times, it will come true.)
