New York City is just like any other town

marthettesNew York City is just like any other town: Except here in New York, where this weblog finds itself today, they have five-hour parades in the snow during which tens of thousands of men in kilts march down the street in front of screaming people who have apparently had a beer-or-two and have dyed their hair green. Except for that and the fact that all the people inside offices and stores seem to go on about their business like there aren’t a few hundred thousand party-goers outside in the snow, New York City is just like any other town. (I took that picture on the left with my Canon PowerShot, therefore I assume the streaks are not scratches on the film, but are snowflakes.)
