Blog soundtrack

Blog soundtrack: Now that I can link to specific titles on the rexblog affiliate iTunes store, I’ll be adding “rexblog bumper music” to some of my posts. I’ve also started an archive of the bumper music called “you heard it on the rexblog.” Keep watching for more “fun with iTunes affiliate store” ideas. And remember, as soon as all seven people who visit this weblog will together (or individually) purchase 20 million tunes from the rexblog iTunes afilliate store, I will be able to make a million bucks from doing this.

? (Hint: If you highlight the following text, you can read it.) That’s right, this post is in white type. Only people who know how to highlight type are going to see it. That makes you and me cool like the cool folks receiving the new American Express black-card customer magazine. My only question is this: If it is supposed to be so mysterious, how come they pitched a story to David Carr? I wonder if this will replace the no-words magazine as the gimmick of the month?

What about about?

What about about? Via PaidContent.org, I saw this article about about.com partnering with editorial brands. I’m confused. I thought a big editorial company purchased about.com to do the whole partnering with editorial brands thing. Of course that was a few years and few billion dollars ago.

By the way, since I mentioned Paid.Content.org, that reminds me that I’d like to say the following about the man behind that web-venture, Rafat Ali: “PaidContent.org’s Rafat Ali is the role model for how to create an online business using the tools of blogging, the tenacity of nose-to-grindstone reporting and the creative insight of savvy entrepreneurship.”

Besides actually believing it, I thought I could beat this.

Full-nelson hammerlock web-to-print vaporzine: There’s a new weekly publication being launched by ProWestling.com and VoiceofWrestling.com and if you don’t think it will succeed, you’re obviously a brain-damaged victim of one too many double vertical suplexes.

According to the announcement, the publication is going to be launched during the first week in January, 2005, and will “combine the very best in journalism, commentary, interviews, and other exclusive material related to the sport that we all love: Professional Wrestling!”

Quote:

“Despite the common assumptions of those most critical…Despite those same critics’ false promises of failure…Despite those same “failures” who couldn’t do this themselves…WRESTLING WEEKLY WILL SUCCEED! Do you disagree? Watch us!

For the record, sir, no way would I disagree with you: I’ve seen one of those flying cross body-blocks before.

Also, for the record, if anyone else out there ever launches a magazine in the future, please use these folk’s announcement story as a model for your press release. I even have a lead for you: “No matter what any losers out there think, we’re about to launch a magazine that will kick the crap out of anyone else in our category. Do you disagree? Then, watch out for a flying cross body-block when you least expect it.”
