Blue Tuesday

Blue Tuesday: Hoping it was just some bad dream I was having, I’ve been trying my best to ignore this news all day. The Titans have released wide receiver Derrick Mason, cornerback Samari Rolle, defensive tackle Kevin Carter, tackle Fred Miller, fullback Robert Holcombe and kicker Joe Nedney.

According to a team statement:

Monday’s moves will enable the team to go from being approximately $28 million over the salary cap to $8 million under the cap. The club will now be able to make contract tenders to all of its restricted free agents and exclusive rights players, while exercising options on CB Tony Beckham, WR Drew Bennett, and LB Rocky Boiman.

  1. There will come a day — maybe not this year or even next — when McNair will get released. I just want you to start mentally preparing yourself. I love him too. I think he’s one of the best quarterbacks ever. I’ve loved him since he was at Alcorn State. But…there will come a day.

  2. Hmmmm. The Cowboys need some help at corner. I wonder if they’ll make a run at Samari Rolle. After all, they are currently $20 million under the cap…

  3. Laura, surely you jest. McNair getting released? McNair retiring? No, it will never happen. He will be quarterback for ever. (There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…)
