I am not a Mac cultist but I’ll admit having a certain degree of Maciness: In a public response to an email I received today, for the record, I am a Mac user, not a Mac cult member. I’m an observer of the company and purchase lots of Apple equipment for our firm’s 25 employees. But I am also a contributor to the legal defense fund of bloggers Apple sues (and, for that matter, have purchased lots of Dell computers, as well). While I believe the iPod/iTunes/iTunes Store ecosystem will remain dominant for the foreseeable future, I don’t necessarily think that’s a good thing. (Competition — now that is a very good thing.)
I have spent a part (many days, a big part) of nearly every day during the past 22 years touching a Macintosh keyboard. But, I’m not a Mac cultist. Let’s just say, Apple and I have a close, but nuanced, relationship.
