The New York Times gets it: What to do on a Monday night in Nashville

As I’ve written on this blog a few times (and via e-mail many, many times), if I were visiting Nashville and had only one free night, I would go to the Station Inn.*

It’s great any night of the week.

However, if you happen to be in Nashville on a Monday, the New York Times has given its seal of approval to the Time Jumpers regular weekly gig there.

Can’t we keep a secret, guys?

*Other suggestions for time-strapped visitors: Check out the Nashville Community Foundation’s impressive website:; is the official visitors bureau site; The Ryman is one of the greatest music venues in the world. As for “food,” I defer to my friend Carrington Fox at the Nashville Scene’s Bites Blog. That, and because it has Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack ranked as the #1 restaurant in Nashville. (Note: Prince’s may be a little out-of-the-way if you’re a time-strapped visitor or don’t have a car. However, if you ever get the chance to eat there, eating anything spicier than “mild” can be a life-changing experience.)
